Boost Your Body Image

I’m sure at some point in your life you’ve felt less than perfect or like you’re a loser. Worry not, nothing is permanent and our fellow women have found answers that will relieve us of this body negativity. Here, I have a list of the 3 most common body parts that are affecting our body image.

1. BREASTS

Ladies, listen up! That extra fat that rests on your chest, that is a god-given gift regardless of its size. For women who want to make their breasts look bigger, we have push up bras but more specifically, try the maximizers! We have options that could increase your breast size by 1 to 2 cups and that, my friends, is plenty enough. For women who are much blessed with larger breasts, sports bras are a good solution but we know that the real struggle is with underboob sweat. Here are a couple of hacks to help absorb all those “skin tears”. Some sports bras come with cooling liners that ensure maximum absorption and support. If you can’t afford that stuff, try buying bra liners or attach panty liners on the bra band. Antiperspirants also have been recommended to help with underboob sweat. Yes, I know… Just get a different antiperspirant from the one you use on your armpit if it makes you feel better about it.

2. FACE

Next up, the face! No, I’m not saying that you think your face is ugly. I think we’re more conscious about the acne, pimples and blackheads. With a proper skincare routine, I’m sure your face will be off your version of this list in no time. My personal favorite skincare routine involves scrubbing my face with a facial scrub. I love it when it has the granules that just scrubs the blackheads and whiteheads right off my pores. You can even try it with a facial cleaning brush for better results. After which, I like to use skin moisturizers to keep my skin looking young and healthy. Personally, I love Korean skincare products but I also love American brands like Clinique and Estee Lauder, to name a few. Acnes and pimples are visible as a result of bacteria build up under the skin. Here, I thought Dr. Pimplepopper was just going to show videos of her popping regular pimples. Let me warn you, they’re not the pimples you have come to know during puberty! Going back, for normal-sized pimples, try using Neutrogena on-the-spot acne treatment or Nexcare acne patch. The patch works overnight without leaving a scar. Alternatively, if those aren’t your thing, you can always just opt to cover it with makeup. Concealer and foundation are equally good options. Just make sure you completely remove them with makeup remover wipes at the end of the day to prevent bacteria build up and more acne.

3. STOMACH

I only have one answer to that. SPANX or SKIMS. Or if you want a more generic one, shaper pants or shaper panties or control pants. These babies are magical when it comes to transforming your look in every outfit. It makes your waistline smaller and it goes down smoothly around your waist to your hips. Now, you can go out to eat and be guilt-free while ordering that extra slice of pizza.

At the end of the day, you are beautiful regardless of the flaws (because we all have that) that you possess. Life is too short and we should be content with what we have. I know it’s easier said than done. Just as Bruno Mars sang, “girl you’re amazing, just the way you are”.
